Opera celebrations scheduled for October 24 in Porto and Brazil

Various musical events are set to take place on October 24 to celebrate opera and lyrical traditions.

In Porto, Portugal, the Mercado do Bolhão will host celebrations for World Opera Day as part of the FIATO – Porto International Arts and Opera Festival. The event features free entry and includes performances by the Porto Music Conservatory and Ginasiano. The program also includes a flash mob involving choral singing and an open rehearsal leading to a public presentation. The FIATO festival is scheduled to continue in November with various exhibitions and training sessions.

In Brazil, the Bravo Tenores in Concert will be held at the BTG Pactual Hall. Conducted by maestro Renato Misiuk and accompanied by the Orquestra Maestro Misiuk, the performance features tenors Gilberto Chaves, Lucas Melo, and Rinaldo Leon. The repertoire includes Italian classics, opera arias, and crossover hits designed to bring classical music to broader audiences.
