Opera integrates eSIM feature into mobile browser

Opera has announced the integration of a built-in eSIM feature directly into its mobile browser, aiming to simplify connectivity for international travelers. The update provides users with an initial 3GB of free global data to test the service without requiring payment details, an email address, or the installation of additional third-party eSIM applications.

Unlike browser-specific data savers, the eSIM connection provides internet access to the entire device, allowing users to utilize maps, messaging, and ride-sharing apps without incurring roaming charges. The service is initially rolling out across 47 destinations.

Following the introductory free allotment, Opera plans to offer paid data packages including 3GB, 5GB, or 10GB options valid for 30 days. The company claims its eSIM plans are, on average, 33% cheaper than competitors.
