Opera performances held at Teatro Escayola and Teatro Español
Recent cultural events in South America have featured diverse operatic performances. In Tacuarembó, Uruguay, the Teatro Escayola hosted a performance of Francis Poulenc’s chamber opera ‘La voz humana’, featuring soprano Ana Escudero and pianist Marian Airaudo under the direction of Renata Denevi.
In Santa Rosa, Argentina, the Asociación Cultural Pampa is scheduled to present the ‘Amores de ópera’ Spring Lyric Concert at the Teatro Español on September 12. The event will feature soloists from the Teatro Colón, including baritone Mirko Tomas, tenor Luca Eizaguirre, and soprano Cecynés Peralta, accompanied by the Orquesta Lírica de Buenos Aires directed by Fernando Angulo. The program includes selections from Georges Bizet’s ‘Les pêcheurs de perles’ and Franz Lehár’s ‘Die lustige Witwe’, with simultaneous Spanish subtitles provided for the audience.
