Opera performances scheduled across Italy for summer 2026
Various cultural events featuring operatic performances are scheduled across Italy for the summer of 2026.
At the Mantova Village in Bagnolo San Vito, a free recital of Verdi’s ‘La Traviata’ will take place on August 29. This event, part of the Summer Nights 2026 series, is a collaboration with the Fondazione Arena and features artists performing famous arias accompanied by piano and narration to guide the audience through the story of Violetta Valéry and Alfredo Germont.
In Caposoprano, the newly established TAG Festival will utilize the archaeological park’s Timoleontean Walls as a stage. The festival aims to combine high-quality symphonic production with social inclusion, specifically focusing on people with disabilities. The program includes ‘La Traviata’ on August 28, directed by Andrea Hlinkova, and Mascagni’s ‘Cavalleria Rusticana’ on September 12, directed by Antoniu Zamfir. These performances will involve approximately one hundred professionals, including the Catania Philharmonic Orchestra directed by Francesco di Mauro and the Concentus Choir directed by Alistar Sorley.
