Operación Triunfo 25th anniversary reunion reportedly cancelled

The planned 25th-anniversary reunion for the first edition of the Spanish musical reality show ‘Operación Triunfo’ has reportedly been cancelled. While organizers previously suggested a recording date in Madrid for October or a postponement to February 2027, sources indicate the project has been discarded due to organizational difficulties, economic issues, and the unavailability of several high-profile former contestants.

Rosa López, the winner of the inaugural season, has publicly expressed her disagreement with the anniversary proposals. In a social media video, she stated that she would decline certain invitations, emphasizing her need to assert her independence as an artist and set boundaries rather than participating in events simply because of the show's legacy.

In contrast, fellow contestant Natalia Rodríguez expressed a desire to celebrate the milestone, noting that she is currently planning something special. She reflected on her 25-year career, highlighting her success in maintaining a professional life in the music industry since her time on the show.
