Operasi Pesta Copet film premieres in Indonesian cinemas

The film ‘Operasi Pesta Copet’, produced by Imajinari, premiered in Indonesian cinemas on Thursday, August 27, 2026. Directed by Edy Khemod in his directorial debut, the film blends comedy, drama, and social themes.

Set against the backdrop of the Pestapora music festival, the story follows four young individuals—Ijal, Adut, Tia, and Melodi—who resort to pickpocketing to cope with economic pressures. The film explores the motivations behind such actions, questioning whether the perpetrators are music lovers driven by necessity or individuals studying concert culture to facilitate their crimes.

The cast includes Iqbaal Ramadhan, Kristo Immanuel, Zulfa Maharani, Kawai Labiba, and Fauzan Lubis. Producer Ernest Prakasa noted that the film aims to offer a fresh and authentic story through grounded comedy and relevant drama.
