Operation Wealth Creation implements leadership changes

Operation Wealth Creation (OWC) has implemented a series of leadership changes across several directorates at its headquarters in Kamwokya, Kampala. The restructuring affects the directorates of Inspectorate, Research and Analysis; Operations; Special Duties; and Monitoring and Evaluation, alongside new advisory roles within the Office of the Chief Coordinator.

Key appointments include Maj Gen (Rtd) David Wakaalo as Director of Inspectorate, Research and Analysis, and Col Victor Opera as Director of Operations. Additionally, AIGP (Rtd) Moses Balimwoyo and Henry Banyenzaki have assumed roles as Principal Advisors to the Chief Coordinator.

Brigadier General James Kaija, the OWC Chief Staff Officer, characterized the changes as inevitable and encouraged staff to remain focused on achieving positive results despite potential criticism. Maj Gen (Rtd) Wakaalo noted that merging certain functions aims to reduce redundancy and improve institutional coordination, emphasizing the importance of evidence-based decision-making and research in strategic advisory roles.
