Opeyemi Bamidele advocates for education investment and political decorum

Nigerian Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele has emphasized the importance of investing in basic education to develop future national leaders. During the inauguration of the renovated Government Science College in Iyin-Ekiti, Ekiti State, Bamidele highlighted that such investments provide the necessary knowledge and character for children to become professionals and responsible citizens.

Bamidele personally funded the renovation of the school at a cost exceeding N200 million, covering the administrative blocks, classrooms, hostels, dining hall, and kitchen. He also provided a new bus for the college and a bus for the Federal University of Technology and Environmental Sciences Iyin-Ekiti (FUTESI).

In a separate statement issued in Abuja to mark Nigeria’s 66th Independence Anniversary, Bamidele also issued a warning to politicians regarding the 2027 general elections. He urged political parties and candidates to avoid hate speech, inflammatory rhetoric, and violence, stating that political ambitions must not compromise national peace or violate the Electoral Act and the Constitution.
