Opole Voivodeship implements integration initiatives for 28,000 foreign workers
As of late June 2026, more than 28,000 foreign nationals are legally employed in the Opole Voivodeship. The largest group consists of 21,854 Ukrainian citizens, followed by 1,061 Colombians and 927 Belarusians.
To support this growing demographic and address regional demographic challenges, local authorities are focusing on integration efforts. The Foreigner Integration Center, operating under the Provincial Labor Office, provides Polish language courses—including industry-specific vocabulary—as well as vocational, legal, and psychological support.
To foster community ties, the region is hosting the fifth International Integrative Family Picnic, ‘Opolskie Gościnne’, at the Museum of the Opole Village. The event aims to showcase Polish and Silesian culture alongside the traditions of new residents, featuring workshops, international cuisine, and a performance by Danzel.
