Oporów Castle hosts national conference for Family Rights Day

The Oporów Castle Museum hosted a national conference titled ‘Family as the Foundation of the Nation and State’ to mark the 10th anniversary of Family Rights Day. The celebrations began with a mass in Kutno and are scheduled to conclude with meetings of parliamentary teams in the Sejm of the Republic of Poland.

Family Rights Day, observed on October 22, commemorates the 1983 announcement of the Charter of Family Rights by the Holy See and the inauguration of Pope John Paul II’s pontificate in 1978. The day was officially established in Poland by a Sejm resolution on October 21, 2016, following an initiative by MP Tadeusz Woźniak. The Charter defines the family as a natural and universal community and emphasizes that care for the family should translate into social and public action.
