Oppenheimer Holdings posts $27.4 M Q2 profit, cites $24.9 M stock‑linked compensation cost

Oppenheimer Holdings Inc. reported net income of $27.4 million, or $2.55 basic earnings per share, for the second quarter of 2026, up from $21.7 million a year earlier. Revenue rose 21.9% to $454.9 million, and year‑to‑date revenue reached $900.0 million.

The results were offset by a $24.9 million pre‑tax expense from a compensation program for financial advisors tied to the company’s stock price, which climbed $16.35 per share during the quarter. Adjusted (non‑GAAP) net income was $45.7 million, or $4.27 adjusted EPS. CEO Robert S. Lowenthal said favorable market conditions drove strong core performance, but the higher compensation expense reduced reported earnings.
