OPPO and OnePlus unveil ColorOS 17 with agentic AI features

OPPO and OnePlus have officially unveiled ColorOS 17, a new mobile operating system based on Android 17. The update introduces the ‘Living Flow Design,’ which utilizes a Luminous Rendering Engine to reduce rendering loads by up to 30% and decrease RAM usage by up to 25%.

A major focus of the release is agentic artificial intelligence. Through the AI Mind Pilot and Agent Mode, the system can perform complex, multi-step tasks such as organizing files, summarizing content, and coordinating actions across different applications. New AI tools include the AI Photo Agent and AI Mind Space.

The rollout will begin with the upcoming OPPO Find X10 series. Subsequent updates for other flagship and mid-range devices, including the Find N6, Find X9, and various Reno and OnePlus series models, are scheduled to roll out between late October 2026 and the first quarter of 2027. Security enhancements include post-quantum encryption for cloud processing and an on-device AI Call Guard to protect against voice scams.
