OnePlus to launch OnePlus 16 in China on October 12

OnePlus is scheduled to launch its flagship OnePlus 16 in China on October 12. The device features significant hardware upgrades, most notably a 9,000 mAh Glacier Battery supporting 100W wired and 50W wireless charging.

Technical specifications include the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 processor and a fourth-generation Oriental LTPO OLED display developed with BOE. The screen offers a 165Hz refresh rate for standard use and can reach up to 185Hz in supported gaming applications. The display is designed with a 1.5K resolution and a minimum hardware brightness of 1 nit for low-light environments.

The camera system is headlined by a 200MP main sensor with a 1/1.4-inch size, complemented by a 50MP ultra-wide lens and a 50MP periscope telephoto lens providing 3x optical zoom. The device will run on ColorOS 17, based on Android 17.

While the initial launch is confirmed for the Chinese market, reports suggest OnePlus may also introduce flagship models, such as the OnePlus 16R or Ace 7, in India between late 2026 and early 2027.
