OPPO and vivo deny rumors of joint gimbal camera development

OPPO and vivo have officially denied rumors regarding a strategic partnership to jointly develop and launch a pocket gimbal camera. Both companies clarified to Nandu Bay Finance that no joint research and development agreement has been reached and there are currently no plans to launch such a product together.

The speculation arose as both brands appear to be independently entering the growing handheld gimbal camera market, which is currently led by DJI’s Osmo Pocket series. While vivo previously confirmed an internal Vlog camera project involving a team of over 200 people, OPPO has also reportedly been working on its own project, potentially slated for a 2026 release. Despite both brands being part of BBK Electronics, they continue to operate independently.
