Sony unveils Xperia 10 VIII mid-range smartphone
Sony has officially announced the Xperia 10 VIII, a mid-range smartphone that emphasizes incremental improvements over radical redesign. The device features a 6.1-inch FHD+ OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, which Sony claims is 50% brighter than its predecessor, the Xperia 10 VII.
Key hardware specifications include the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chipset, 8GB of RAM, and 128GB of internal storage, with support for microSD expansion. The phone will run on Android 16. Audio enthusiasts will find the retention of the 3.5mm headphone jack and front-facing stereo speakers, which have seen a reported increase in volume and bass performance.
The camera system maintains a dual-lens setup with a 50MP main sensor and a 13MP ultra-wide lens. A new software feature, ‘Point & Pay,’ allows users to quickly access payment and loyalty apps by double-pressing the power button. The device is powered by a 5,000mAh battery designed for long-term health and is expected to be available in colors such as Frozen White, Frosted Grey, and Misty Lilac, with pricing starting around 599 euros.
