Oppo Pad 5 5G global version cuts specs and raises price in Europe

Oppo's Pad 5 tablet released for the European market diverges sharply from the Chinese model. The global version reduces the display resolution, uses a lower‑performance processor, offers smaller storage options and a smaller battery, and drops features such as a fingerprint sensor and fast Wi‑Fi. It is supplied with a maximum of 8 GB RAM and 128 GB internal storage, priced at €459 for the Wi‑Fi model and €529 for the 5G variant.

Performance is described as sluggish, especially for demanding games, while the bright LCD screen and decent battery life are noted as advantages. Competing tablets in the same price tier include the Xiaomi Redmi Pad 2 Pro, Lenovo Tab K12 and the cheaper Xiaomi Pad 8, which reviewers recommend as better value.

Overall, the review concludes that although the Pad 5 offers a quality display and 5G connectivity, the extensive cost‑cutting measures result in a device that underperforms relative to expectations for its segment.
