OPPO unifies smartphone software under ColorOS, ending OxygenOS and Realme UI

OPPO announced it will stop developing the OxygenOS skin for OnePlus and the Realme OS interface, moving all future smartphones from its three brands to a single ColorOS platform worldwide. The move is described as an aggressive cost‑cutting restructuring aimed at eliminating the need to maintain three separate software stacks.

OnePlus will refocus its business on China and India, its two biggest markets, while Realme will concentrate on international markets outside China. Existing OnePlus and Realme devices will continue to receive support, but new models will only ship with ColorOS. The change has already led to staff departures in Europe, reduced sales of OnePlus devices in the UK and France, and integrated after‑sales service into OPPO’s network.

The consolidation reflects broader pressure in the smartphone sector from rising component costs and intense competition.
