OPPO develops wide-screen smartphone and high-spec foldable
OPPO is reportedly developing two distinct hardware projects: a wide-screen traditional smartphone and a high-end foldable device.
Leaked specifications suggest a new wide-screen smartphone featuring a 16:9 aspect ratio, a design departure from the industry-standard long-format screens. This model is expected to utilize LIPO packaging technology to achieve ultra-thin 1mm bezels on all four sides. With an estimated body width of 85mm and a screen width of 81mm, the device aims to provide a more immersive video experience by reducing black bars, though the wider form factor may pose challenges for single-handed use.
Separately, leaks regarding the upcoming OPPO Find N7 foldable indicate significant hardware upgrades. The device is expected to feature a 7.6-inch Samsung inner display with a seamless hinge design to minimize creases. Performance may be driven by a 2nm chipset, potentially the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6. The camera system is rumored to include a Hasselblad-tuned quad-camera setup, headlined by a 200MP main sensor, a 50MP ultra-wide lens, a 50MP periscopic telephoto lens, and a 3MP multispectral sensor. The foldable is also anticipated to include a large 6500mAh battery.
