Opposition parties in Gujarat and Himachal push back on Congress

In Gujarat, the state Congress unit demanded that the central and state governments give a legal guarantee to the Minimum Support Price (MSP) recommended by the Swaminathan Commission and called for a high‑level probe into pre‑monsoon work after heavy rains caused deaths and damage. Party officials argued that the Modi government had failed to honor election promises on farmer pricing and infrastructure.

In Himachal Pradesh, BJP chief Rajiv Bindal attacked Congress leader Vikramaditya Singh, saying the party no longer needs any “certificate” from him. Bindal blamed the Congress government for unmet employment promises, inadequate governance and the handling of the Ram temple issue, positioning the BJP as the party of the people.

Both statements reflect regional opposition criticism of the Congress party’s performance and policy commitments across two Indian states.
