Opposition protest in Macapá targets Davi Alcolumbre and STF

Opposition lawmakers Nikolas Ferreira and Zé Trovão have organized a demonstration in Macapá, Amapá, to pressure Senate President Davi Alcolumbre. The protest aims to demand that Alcolumbre schedule impeachment proceedings against Supreme Federal Court (STF) ministers, specifically targeting Alexandre de Moraes.

The event, scheduled for Sunday at Curva do Araxá, has faced logistical tensions. Nikolas Ferreira reported being a target of political persecution, leading to a last-minute change in the protest location. In response, the Mayor of Macapá has organized a counter-mobilization at the new site, creating the potential for a confrontation between the two groups.

The political tension coincides with ongoing scrutiny within the STF regarding investigations into Banco Master and the relationship between ministers and former banker Daniel Vorcaro. Additionally, the opposition is coordinating separate mobilizations involving truck drivers to further advocate for the removal of Minister Moraes.
