Opéra de Toulon announces October performances

The Opéra de Toulon has announced two major performances scheduled for October. On October 3, the venue will present Maurice Ravel’s musical tale ‘L’Enfant et les Sortilèges’, featuring a libretto by Colette. Directed by James Bonas with musical direction by Victorien Vanoosten, the production includes performances by the Opéra de Toulon Orchestra and Choir, preceded by Igor Stravinsky’s ‘Petrouchka’.

On October 7 and 8, the Ballets de Monte-Carlo will perform ‘LAC’ at the Zénith de Toulon. Choreographed by Jean-Christophe Maillot, ‘LAC’ is a contemporary reinterpretation of the classic ‘Swan Lake’. The production focuses on returning narrative and myth to the center of the ballet through dynamic and physical movement. This performance continues a long-standing collaborative relationship between the Monte Carlo company and the Toulon opera house.
