Oprah Winfrey and Gayle King address rumors and attend Telluride Film Festival
Oprah Winfrey and Gayle King recently addressed long-standing rumors regarding their relationship during an appearance on Melinda Gates' chat series, ‘Moments That Make Us’. The pair, who met nearly 50 years ago at WJZ-TV in Baltimore, clarified that their deep bond is a platonic friendship. Winfrey noted that rumors often stem from people being unaccustomed to seeing such a strong ‘truth bond’ between women.
Separately, Winfrey appeared at the Telluride Film Festival to moderate a discussion for the North American premiere of the documentary ‘Everest: The Other Side’. The film follows mountaineer Jim Morrison and his late partner Hilaree Nelson as they attempt to scale and ski the north face of Mount Everest. During the event, Winfrey interviewed Morrison about the perilous nature of the mission and the emotional weight of completing the climb in honor of Nelson, who died during a mountaineering trip in 2022.
