Oprah Winfrey reflects on career decisions as Serbian road subsidies double
Media entrepreneur Oprah Winfrey has reflected on the professional challenges of 2012, identifying it as one of her most difficult years due to a poor business decision driven by people-pleasing tendencies. Winfrey noted that despite being aware the decision was not in her best interest, she succumbed to external pressure. She emphasized the importance of independence and accountability in decision-making to protect long-term financial stability and brand reputation.
In Serbian fiscal news, the recent budget rebalance has significantly increased subsidies for road enterprises. Putevi Srbije, managed by Zoran Drobnjak, saw its subsidies more than double, rising from an originally planned 19 billion dinars to 41 billion dinars. The Fiscal Council has raised concerns regarding this increase, stating that the purpose of the additional 22 billion dinars is not clearly defined and lacks connection to explicitly stated priorities. The Ministry of Finance and Putevi Srbije have not yet provided specific details regarding the intended use of these funds.
