Optellum and RapidAI integrate AI for lung nodule management

Optellum and RapidAI have announced the integration of Optellum’s Virtual Nodule Clinic (VNC) and Lung Cancer Prediction (LCP) AI into the Rapid Enterprise™ Platform. This integration aims to improve the identification, risk assessment, and follow-up of lung nodules within clinical workflows.

Lung cancer is a leading cause of cancer death globally, and research indicates that approximately 60% of incidentally discovered lung nodules are lost to follow-up. Optellum’s technology includes Patient Discovery AI, which scans radiology reports to identify patients needing review, and LCP AI, which analyzes CT images to assess cancer risk.

Optellum’s solution is the first FDA-cleared and Medicare-reimbursed AI for image-based lung cancer risk stratification. The integration with RapidAI’s platform, which is currently utilized in over 2,500 hospitals across more than 100 countries, is intended to expand the reach of these diagnostic capabilities to more care teams.
