Optimism expands ecosystem as Unichain plans migration to OP Enterprise

Optimism is an Ethereum scaling ecosystem utilizing the OP Stack and the Superchain to provide Layer 2 infrastructure. The ecosystem aims to support various sectors, including decentralized finance, payments, and institutional blockchain applications, by offering software that allows for high-volume transactions without relying solely on Ethereum’s main execution layer.

As part of this expanding ecosystem, Unichain plans to migrate its production operations to Optimism’s OP Enterprise service in October 2026. Under this managed-operations model, Optimism will operate Unichain’s production sequencers, monitoring, and incident response infrastructure. While Optimism manages the core stack, Unichain will retain its own chain ID, contracts, balances, and applications. This move follows a similar model adopted by Soneium and planned for Ink.
