Ora Banda Mining advances expansion to 300,000oz gold production

Ora Banda Mining is progressing its ‘DRIVE to 300’ strategy, an aspiration to double annual gold production to 300,000 ounces by fiscal year 2029. Key infrastructure projects are currently underway at its Davyhurst operations in Western Australia’s Eastern Goldfields.

Construction of a new 3-million-tonne-per-annum (Mtpa) processing plant is reportedly on schedule and within budget, with structural steel and earthworks progressing. The new facility, expected in early 2028, will significantly increase capacity from the existing 1.2Mtpa plant. Additionally, underground development at the Waihi mine has commenced ahead of schedule, with high-grade ore expected to be delivered by early to mid-next year.

Despite a challenging September quarter that saw costs rise to A$4,214 per ounce due to weather and a planned mill shutdown, the company maintained its full-year production guidance. Ora Banda reported A$207 million in cash and recently increased its revolving credit facility to A$300 million, bringing total available liquidity to A$507 million to fund its growth initiatives.
