Oracle AI Business Hits Stock Slide and Launches Motorsport Startup Program

Oracle's shares fell 25% in the first half of 2026, leaving the stock more than 50% below its prior record high. Analysts cited worries that the company's massive AI data‑center expansion could be undercut by large customers struggling to meet payment obligations. Oracle reported $638 billion in performance obligations, with roughly half tied to OpenAI, raising concerns about concentration risk and potential non‑payment.

In parallel, Oracle announced a partnership with the International Motor Sports Association's new IMSA Labs platform. As the founding partner, Oracle will run the Oracle Cloud Innovation Studio, giving startups access to live racing telemetry and high‑volume data to develop and test AI‑driven solutions. The initiative aims to translate insights from the demanding motorsport environment to sectors such as manufacturing, logistics, energy and telecommunications.
