Oracle and AWS expand strategic collaboration for cloud database migration
Oracle and Amazon Web Services (AWS) have expanded their long-term strategic collaboration to accelerate enterprise migration to the Oracle AI Database@AWS platform. As part of this expansion, Oracle has announced the general availability of the Oracle Exadata Database Service on Exascale Infrastructure within the Oracle AI Database@AWS environment.
The service is now available across 22 AWS regions globally, including several in the Asia-Pacific region. This integration allows enterprises to modernize Oracle workloads with lower costs while maintaining direct access to AWS analytics and AI services, such as Amazon Redshift and Amazon S3. The Exadata service provides high performance and availability without requiring customers to provision dedicated servers, utilizing a pooled storage model instead.
Early adopters in the Asia-Pacific region include the South Korean beauty and wellness retailer CJ Olive Young, which uses the platform for business-critical workloads. The partnership aims to provide a lower-risk path for companies to run mission-critical workloads in the cloud without the need to re-architect legacy systems.
