Oracle and NetApp partner on cloud storage integration
Oracle and NetApp have announced a collaboration to introduce a fully managed storage service on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure. The service will integrate NetApp ONTAP capabilities directly into the cloud platform, with general availability expected within the next 12 months. This move is designed to assist customers in migrating existing storage structures to the cloud without undergoing complex system changes.
In Europe, the concept of sovereign storage is becoming a critical architectural and operational decision for enterprises investing in AI and cyber resilience. NetApp is addressing these needs through its Keystone Sovereign service, which provides data sovereignty controls. The focus for European customers extends beyond physical data location to include management, support origins, and telemetry collection, aiming to provide a cloud-like experience while maintaining strict data control.
