Oracle cuts 546 cloud infrastructure roles in the US
Oracle has implemented targeted job cuts within its America Cloud Infrastructure organization, according to a leaked internal document. The reductions affect 546 employees, representing approximately 7.6% of the 7,185 staff members listed for that unit.
The layoffs primarily impact software developers, program managers, and core infrastructure engineers, as well as parts of the data center support organization. This move follows Oracle’s previous communication regarding a broader reduction of 21,000 positions, or 13% of its workforce, by the end of fiscal year 2026.
Despite these workforce reductions, the company is simultaneously focusing on expanding its artificial intelligence capabilities, with planned investments ranging between $90 billion and $95 billion for AI data centers.
