Oracle launches AI hotel assistant and unveils multibillion-dollar cloud infrastructure plan

Oracle announced the OPERA Cloud Assistant on June 16, embedding AI in its hospitality property‑management platform. The new features provide natural‑language operational guidance, AI‑assisted room assignment, automated rate‑code descriptions and multilingual translation, all at no additional cost to existing OPERA Cloud customers. Demonstrated at the HITEC conference, the tool aims to streamline front‑desk tasks, reduce reliance on managers and enhance guest service for hotel chains such as Wyndham.

At the same time, Oracle disclosed a plan to raise $45‑$50 billion by 2026 to fund a worldwide expansion of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) for AI workloads. The buildout includes data‑center investments of over $8 billion in Japan, $6.5 billion in Malaysia, $3 billion shared by Germany and the Netherlands, and a new OCI Supercluster built on NVIDIA GPUs. OCI revenue jumped 93 % to $5.8 billion in Q4 FY2026, and Oracle has secured contracts with OpenAI, Meta and NVIDIA, positioning the company as a major competitor to the leading hyperscalers.
