Oracle inaugurated its second research and development centre in Agadir, Morocco, reinforcing the company's growing footprint in the country. The ceremony was attended by Prime Minister Aziz Akhannouch, U.S. Ambassador Duke Buchan and Oracle executive Simon de Montfort Walker. Akhannouch said the new hub confirms Morocco as a “credible, competitive and attractive platform for research and development activities and advanced technologies.”

The Agadir centre builds on Oracle’s earlier R&D hub in Casablanca and will focus on advancing cloud, artificial‑intelligence and data‑platform solutions for customers worldwide. It supports Morocco’s “AI Made in Morocco” strategy, aims to create opportunities for highly‑skilled Moroccan engineers and developers, and is part of a broader plan that includes the operational Oracle Cloud region in Casablanca and a future cloud region in Settat.

Oracle’s expansion is presented as a strategic partnership that contributes to the Kingdom’s digital transformation and positions the nation as a regional hub linking Africa, Europe and the Middle East.
