Oracle posts record Q4 revenue driven by AI cloud services
Oracle reported a record fourth‑quarter revenue of $19.2 billion, up 21 % year‑on‑year and just above the FactSet consensus of $19.1 billion. Cloud revenue rose 47 % to $9.9 billion, propelled by large AI contracts, and the order backlog surged to $638 billion, a 363 % increase, largely from prepaid or self‑provided chip deals. Adjusted earnings per share came in at $2.11 versus $1.96 expected.
Despite the strong results, Oracle shares fell nearly 6 % after hours. The company reaffirmed its fiscal‑2027 outlook of $90 billion in revenue and projected adjusted EPS of $8.05, while planning to raise about $40 billion in new capital, including a $20 billion equity offering. Analysts had been looking for EPS of $1.89 and revenue of $19.09 billion, with a median target price of $264 per share.
