Oracle Project Jupiter faces pipeline delay in New Mexico
Oracle’s Project Jupiter, a massive AI data center development in New Mexico valued at up to $165 billion, is facing potential setbacks due to a delay in its natural gas fuel supply. Energy Transfer’s Transwestern unit has pushed the expected in-service date for the Green Chile pipeline from August 15, 2026, to February 1, 2027.
The pipeline is intended to supply up to 400 million cubic feet of natural gas per day to power Bloom Energy fuel cells, which are expected to provide up to 2.45 gigawatts of capacity for the site. The delay follows repeated refusals by New Mexico State Land Commissioner Stephanie Garcia Richard to approve the pipeline route, citing concerns over the impact on state trust lands, water resources, and increased emissions.
Despite the pipeline delay, Oracle has stated that the project remains on schedule as of July 2026. The 1,400-acre campus has already generated approximately $80 million in tax revenue and employs over 2,700 workers. Oracle previously warned federal regulators that delays to the fuel supply could jeopardize the broader objectives of the project.
