Oracle to launch environmental dashboard for New Mexico AI data center

Oracle has announced plans to launch a public dashboard for Project Jupiter, its $20 billion hyperscale AI data center campus currently under construction in Doña Ana County, New Mexico. The dashboard is intended to provide real-time transparency regarding environmental metrics, including air quality, noise levels, heat, light, and water consumption once the facility becomes operational.

The initiative follows local objections concerning the project’s ecological footprint. In response, Oracle modified its power strategy, replacing original plans for diesel and gas turbines with near-zero-emission fuel cells from Bloom Energy. Additionally, the company has issued a request for proposals to source 2 gigawatts of new renewable energy in New Mexico to meet the campus’s power requirements.

Oracle has committed $50 million to local water infrastructure improvements and $360 million toward supporting schools and public services. The company also plans to conduct twice-yearly third-party audits to compare onsite environmental data against industry standards and baseline conditions.
