Oradea cultural initiatives and SMURD Bihor 33rd anniversary

The Crișana Country Museum in Oradea has announced a new edition of its ‘Șezătoarea de la muzeu’ cultural program. Running from October 16, 2026, to June 24, 2027, the monthly events aim to revitalize interest in the Romanian folk port traditions of the late 19th and mid-20th centuries. The project honors previous ethnography researchers and collectors who preserved thousands of cultural pieces.

In regional news, the SMURD Bihor emergency service is celebrating 33 years of operation. Since its establishment in 1993, the service has completed approximately 174,661 missions to provide emergency medical assistance and save lives. Brigadier General Sorin Caba reported that between January and October 2026, the service averaged 30 missions per day. The service currently operates 11 intervention crews, including intensive care and motorcycle units, supported by over 30 ambulances and specialized vehicles.
