Oradea launches 2026 participatory budgeting vote

The Oradea City Hall has launched the voting phase for its 2026 participatory budgeting program. A total of 39 eligible projects, proposed by local citizens, are competing for a combined budget of 1.5 million lei.

Online voting is currently underway through September 27, 2026, via the Activ Oradea platform. Residents can register or authenticate using Facebook to cast votes for a maximum of three projects. Following the digital phase, a physical voting period will take place from September 28 to October 18, 2026, during public meetings held in various neighborhoods and companies.

Proposed initiatives include infrastructure and environmental improvements, such as the renovation of pedestrian underpasses on Dacia Boulevard, the installation of electric vehicle charging stations, the creation of a local platform for waste reduction called ‘Oradea ReFolosește’, and the implementation of underground waste containers. Other proposals involve traffic safety measures, green space management, and fitness area enhancements.
