Oradea State Philharmonic opens 2026–2027 season with Berlioz
The Oradea State Philharmonic is launching its 2026–2027 season with two vocal-symphonic concerts scheduled for October 1 and 2 at the Roman Catholic Cathedral in Oradea. The program features Hector Berlioz’s “Te Deum,” a large-scale work composed in 1849 that utilizes an orchestra, choirs, organ, and soloists.
Croatian conductor Andrej Vesel, the institution's permanent conductor since January 2024, will lead the Oradea State Philharmonic Orchestra. The performances will involve several ensembles, including the Philharmonic Choir, the “Coralini” Children's Choir, the “Iuliu Maniu” Greco-Catholic High School choir, and the “Emanuel” University Chamber Choir. Soloists for the event include tenor Sebastian Vaida and organist Kristófi János-Zsigmond.
