Wildfires and residential fires cause fatalities and destruction in Canada and Romania

Multiple wildfires and residential fires have caused significant destruction and loss of life across different regions. In British Columbia, Canada, an 80-year-old woman died while attempting to evacuate her home from a rapidly spreading forest fire at Bald Range. The fire near Okanagan Lake has forced the evacuation of over 20,000 people and destroyed more than 13,000 hectares.

In Romania, several separate incidents were reported. In Oradea, a 69-year-old woman died in an apartment fire, leading to the evacuation of eight people. Other fires occurred in Argeș, Botoșani, Arad, and Lugoj, affecting agricultural storage, vegetation, and residential structures. In Arad, a vegetation fire burned three hectares and destroyed a trailer, while in Lugoj, firefighters saved five animals and prevented flames from reaching nearby homes.
