Oran Wali reviews development programs and school readiness

Ibrahim Ouchène, the Wali of Oran, presided over a coordination meeting on September 12, 2026, to monitor various social and economic development programs. The meeting included local officials, including the secretary general of the wilaya, heads of daïras, and municipal assembly presidents.

Discussions focused on the progress of development programs, including the Support for Social and Economic Development of Communes (ADSEC) and various funds for local collectives. The Wali reviewed project advancement rates across multiple sectors, such as public works, hydraulics, education, health, energy, and housing. He issued instructions to finalize completed operations, process payments to companies, and officially receive development projects to improve citizen living conditions.

Additionally, the meeting addressed preparations for the 2026-2027 school year. The Wali emphasized the necessity of ensuring school canteens are fully operational, providing hot meals to students from the first day, and finalizing arrangements for school transport and educational equipment.
