Orange Belgium launches AI-powered cyber protection for SMEs
Orange Belgium has launched ‘Cyber Protection’, a managed cybersecurity solution specifically designed for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with up to 30 employees. The service aims to provide digital resilience for businesses that lack dedicated in-house IT security teams.
The solution integrates AI-driven threat detection and behavioral analysis with 24/7 monitoring provided by experts from Orange Cyberdefense. Unlike traditional antivirus software, the system is designed to detect both known and unknown attacks, with the ability to automatically block or isolate files when a threat is identified.
The launch follows reports from Orange Cyberdefense indicating a 44.5% global increase in cyber-extortion cases in 2025, with SMEs accounting for two-thirds of victims. In Belgium, approximately 100 ransomware incidents are reported annually, often resulting in IT systems remaining offline for an average of 21 days.
Additionally, the service is designed to assist companies in meeting regulatory requirements, including GDPR and the NIS2 Directive, by facilitating rapid data breach detection and maintaining incident logs for reporting purposes.
