Orange County mosquito treatments scheduled for eight cities

The Orange County Mosquito and Vector Control District has scheduled overnight mosquito treatments from August 26 to August 28. These truck-mounted applications, using AquaDuet and/or DeltaGard, will target residential areas in Anaheim, Buena Park, Cypress, Garden Grove, Huntington Beach, Orange, Stanton, and Westminster.

The measures are a response to rising mosquito populations and the potential risk of mosquito-borne diseases during the summer season. Treatments are scheduled between midnight and 5:30 a.m. to avoid bee activity. Officials stated that the products used at prescribed rates will not harm people, pets, fruit trees, vegetable gardens, or fishponds, and residents do not need to deactivate air-conditioning systems.
