Southern California opens early voting centers for November election

Various counties across Southern California have begun opening vote centers to facilitate early in-person voting for the November 3, 2026, general election.

In Los Angeles County, 123 vote centers opened on October 24, with over 500 additional locations scheduled to open on October 31. Officials have emphasized that voters can use any center in the county regardless of residence. In Orange County, 39 centers opened on October 24, supplemented by mobile pop-up voting units.

San Diego County commenced in-person voting at 41 centers, with 180 more expected to open on October 31. Marin County is also implementing a staggered opening schedule for its 21 vote centers.

Election officials across these regions are encouraging the use of mail-in ballots, which were sent to active registered voters earlier in the month. For those who missed registration deadlines, California offers conditional voter registration at participating vote centers. Officials have noted that contingency plans, including backup power and secure equipment transport, are in place to ensure election integrity.
