Orange launches 5G services in Créances

Orange has launched 5G services in Créances, located in the Cotentin region of the Manche department, as of September 15, 2026. To implement this upgrade, the operator utilized an existing mobile site that has been in service since 2022 for 3G and 4G, adding new 5G antennas to the existing equipment rather than installing an entirely new site.

The deployment is intended to complement 4G technology by helping to desaturate the network and better distribute usage. Orange expects the new technology to provide more stable connections and smoother internet browsing, particularly in high-traffic areas such as town centers and tourist zones.

In the Manche department, Orange reports having 261 mobile sites in service, 147 of which are equipped with 5G. This network currently covers 98 communes, reaching more than 71% of the departmental population.
