Orange man charged with drug supply after police search

Brett Jones, a 43-year-old man from Orange, was charged with drug supply after police conducted a search of his residence under a weapons prohibition order. During the search, police discovered 210 grams of cannabis stored in a bedroom fridge, which had been divided into smaller resealable bags.

Officers also seized a notebook used to track debts, two CCTV systems, and various items including scales, aluminium foil, and resealable bags that appeared to be used for packaging. Evidence of drug supply was also found on Jones' mobile phone.

Appearing in Orange Local Court, Jones pleaded guilty to the charge. Judge Andrew Miller noted that while drug supply is a serious matter, the quantity of cannabis was toward the lower end and Jones had pleaded guilty at a “relatively” early stage. The judge suggested Jones' involvement was likely at a “street level at best.”
