Orange secures Queen tribute concert for September 4 after legal battle

The tribute concert "Queen Forever" is set for 4 September 2026 at the Ancient Theatre of Orange, featuring about 650 amateur choristers from across France.

The RN‑led municipal government originally cancelled the event, citing an unexpected expense linked to a landslide that blocked a road. Producer David Hardit challenged the decision in the administrative court of Nîmes, and a judge gave the parties a few days to reach a settlement.

The parties later reached an amicable agreement; under the protocol the producer will shoulder roughly €37,000 of the costs, allowing the concert to go ahead as planned.
