Orange Sierra Leone addresses network issues at Port of Freetown

Orange Sierra Leone (OSL) met with the Sierra Leone Ports and Harbours Authority (SLPHA) on October 6, 2026, to address ongoing network connectivity challenges at the Port of Freetown.

During the engagement, which coincided with Customer Service Week, SLPHA’s Director of Planning, Research and Development, Abubakarr Sidique Kamara, outlined persistent faults that have hindered effective communication within the port environment. The meeting, led by OSL General Secretary Danetta Younge, aimed to strengthen the partnership and identify corrective measures to improve service delivery.

SLPHA Director General Yankuba Askia Bio emphasized that reliable telecommunications are essential for port operations and stakeholder coordination. He noted that a majority of staff utilize the Orange network, making improved connectivity vital for efficient port functions.
