Orange to increase equipment return penalties up to 300 €

Orange is set to implement a new pricing structure for equipment penalties, according to reports highlighted by the consumer association UFC-Que Choisir. Starting November 16, 2026, customers who fail to return hardware within 30 days of a contract termination, move, or equipment change may face significant charges.

The new penalty scale includes 300 € for a Livebox 6 or newer models, 200 € for older Livebox versions, and 100 € for other equipment such as repeaters, Airboxes, or fiber optic boxes. Currently, these penalties typically range between 49 € and 200 €.

Additionally, Orange is introducing a 10 € shipping fee for certain Livebox or decoder shipments not related to technical failures, and increasing termination fees to 69 €. Customers are advised to use the provided transport vouchers to return equipment to relay points within the 30-day window to avoid these costs.
