Oranje-Rood advances to EHL FINAL12 after victory over Wimbledon

Oranje-Rood secured a place in next year’s Euro Hockey League FINAL12 following an eight-goal victory over Wimbledon. Struan Walker led the Eindhoven-based club with two goals during the match.

The hosts established an early lead with goals from Walker and Arthur De Sloover within the first seven minutes. Tijmen Reyenga added a third via a drag-flick in the second quarter. Wimbledon attempted a comeback through goals from Liam Ansell and Fred Newbold, briefly narrowing the gap.

However, Henrik Mertgens scored in the 44th minute to extend the lead to 4-2. Despite a late drag-flick from Sam Hooper, Walker scored his second goal of the match to secure the win for Oranje-Rood.
