Orascom and Muriya advance tourism investments in Oman

Orascom Development and its local partner Muriya Tourism Development are continuing large-scale tourism infrastructure projects across Oman, including developments in Hawana Salalah, Jebel Sifah, and As Sodah Island.

To date, the partnership between Orascom Development and OMRAN has invested more than US$750 million in the country. At Hawana Salalah, the first phase of the Amazi project is nearly 80% complete and is scheduled for handover in the first quarter of 2027. Muriya plans to add approximately 1,000 hotel rooms across Hawana Salalah and Jebel Sifah within the next three to five years.

The most ambitious project involves As Sodah Island, a private island destination off the coast of Dhofar. More than US$25 million has already been invested in its infrastructure, with total anticipated investment expected to exceed US$90 million. These developments align with the Oman Vision 2040 initiative to drive economic diversification through tourism.
